| This is a set of russian nesting dolls I painted as a birthdaypresent for my boyfriend. It symbolises the myth of medusa. " Perseus was on a quest to kill Medusa , in his quest he was aided by the gods Athena & Hermes , Perseus received a mirrorshield from Athena and winged sandals from Hermes. Medusa was so horrific that only a glace would turn men to stone, so Perseus slayed her by looking at her reflection in his shield and moving at blinding speed with the sandals, out of the blood that came from her neck the winged horse Pegasus was born." Acrylics & gold leaf on wood |
